How to Make Your Own Pillow Case from Scratch

Hey guys! I am back with this super cute and adorable and lovable pillow case #DIY . I love this pillow case so much I literally hug my pillow 24/7.  It is just tooo cuteeee

  • So first of all, you will need fabric for your pillowcase and a store brought pillow case that fits your pillow. We are simply going to duplicate the pillowcase.
  • Place the pillowcase on the fabric   (You can check how much space you need to leave for the side seam simply by folding the edges of the fabric into 3 folds so that the edge of the fabric is hidden in between layers and then with a ruler and pencil, mark all four edges of the already made pillowcase and after adding the space .)You need to mark two places. One before adding the seam allowance and another one after adding the seam allowance.

**Remember to add the measurements of the top flap to one side only.**

  • Cut the fabric out with scissors. You will need two pieces of fabric. One with the flap and the other one without the flap.
  • Then, we are going to fold the raw edges of the fabric into three layers and pin them down. Do this to all eight sides of both pieces of  fabric.

**Remember to cut out strips of already frayed fabric so that the layers won't be bulky.**

  • Then, pin the flap part down with some pins, wrong ends together like so.If you want you can sew them together now or wait till the next step.

  • Sew all three edges of the fabric together, avoiding the flap area. Yep sew all those layers of fabric together.

I used a zig-zag stitch.

It should look something like this.

Then, you are ready to make some eyes and a ribbon if you fancy.
  • Draw out two ovals on a piece of white felt and two smaller circles on a piece of black fabric or felt.
  • Cut them out and sew them near the opening or just hot glue them. Either way is cute.

If you want to make a ribbon, here's how you can do it.
  • Cut a rectangular piece of  fabric and glue down all the raw edges.
  • Pinch the fabric at the center and apply some glue in between layers.
  • Cut another long strip of fabric and tie it around the centre, Apply some glue to the back and we are done.
  • You can check the link here to learn how to make this

As a final touch, I cut a few strips of black fabric and glue them on top of the eye to make super cute eye lashes. I love it when they move up and down.

Okay, the pillow case does look scary in this picture but it is actually really cute.

Remember thus pictures? See how cute it looks. I am in love.

Hope you enjoy this #RDIY and I will be back with more weird stuff later on.

Easy Christmas Gift: Unique book covers

Hey there guys! I know this is kind of a weird Christmas gift but my BFF is an awesome artist and she loves to draw so I decided to give her a customized sketch book as a gift. You can also make a cute notebook cover as a gift. You can learn how to make a notebook HERE
Anyways, let's just get into it.

  • First of all, you will need a notebook or anything that you would want to make a special cover for.

  • Then, cut a piece of recycled paper to the size of the book.

  • Cut some colored paper and gift wrapping paper to make a beautiful collage for the cover.

  • Paste the colored paper and gift wrapping paper onto the base and start writing stuff your friend or family member likes with a bunch of colored pens!!

  • After that, hot glue or glue the base onto your book and we are 90% done.

  • To make sure that the colour will not fade easily, take any sort of transparent plastic you have in your house and wrap the cover page.
  •  I had to cut open the top and side so that the plastic is wide enough.

And we are done! Simple and cute!

I hope whoever receives your gift has a smile on his or her face and I wish you a Merry Christmas! And a Happy New Year!

Update on How To Make A Cute Fringe and Word T-shirt

Hey guys! I am sorry for being MIA for so long. I am kind of busy. But today I am back with another DIY!!
Here is what the end product looks like.

I don't mean to brag or anything, but I think this design is way better than my original one cuz I made some alternations.
Here is the picture of the original shirt:<Yep, I DIYed this shirt>

So are you ready to learn how to make this? I mean the new one, not the original one.
I am sure you are.

  • First things first, how did I make the winking face and the SMILE words? Well, you can check that out HERE

  • Then, I decided to sew the collar into the shirt to make it seem smaller. My body shape fits this type of collar better. If you , like me have a kind of large neck, this collar will suit you better. But, try to wear the shirt and find out which type of collar suits you better first.
  • For the steps: One, fold the collar into the shirt. Two, pin the collar to the shirt. Three, sew on the row of thread around the shirt with a needle and a thread.

  • Since I have to finish the raw edges if I cut the sleeves, I decided to just fold it inside and sew on several parts of the sleeve with white thread like so.
  • Just make sure that it is strong enough, so that it won't fall out.

This is how it looks inside out.

  • Take a pair of scissors and cut the bottom part of the T-shirt to make cute fringes. Give them a tug so that they won't look so freshly cut and we are done.

I hope you enjoyed this #RDIY. I will be posting more often as it is the holiday season! Hopefully I can upload an #RDIY on Christmas gifts.

How to Make a Super Cute Hair Bow from a piece of old fabric

Hey guys! I have been MIA for forver and I will be busy till the end of October cuz I have some inportant exam coming right up, so I aplogise in advance if I cannot post frequently. Sorry. Anyways, I had to do this DIY cuz it is just too cute. I did a hair tie bow tutorial and if u want to check it out here is the post

http://jasminerdiy.blogspot.my/2015/01/diy-bow-hair-ties-from-old-shirts-and.html?m=1

So here is the real bow hair accessory. It looks amazing no matter what hairstyle you are rocking.

It looks too cute. I am in love~

  • First of all, you will need an old piece of fabric or a new piece of fabric that you love love love. (Or fart according to ryan higa.) I just love the design so so much and I was determined to make something out of it.

I ironed the fabric so that I have a flat and smooth surface to work with.

  • Glue all the edges of the fabric down with hot glue or fabric glue so that the edges won't fray. If you want you can sew, but I prefer the lazy method.

  • Then, glue the fabric together to form a rectangle. Glue down all the edges. Pinch the middle of the fabric and apply glue in between creases. Pinch again and you have a bow shaped.

  • Take another strip of fabric or the same fabric and glue the edges.
  • Then, wrap the fabric around the centre of the bow and glue it down.

  • Take any hair clip or hair pin that you usually use to pin your hair and apply a generous amount of hot glue on the hair clip like so.

  • After that, just glue the hair clip firmly onto our finished bow and you are left with a cute bow. Cut off any excess and you are done.

I think this is literally the cutest bow ever since I do love love love the design of the fabric. I always wanted to make this DIY hair bow since I saw them on Youtube and I finally made one. Hope you enjoy this #RDIY and I will be back with more weird stuff later one.
