Easy Christmas Gift: Unique book covers

Hey there guys! I know this is kind of a weird Christmas gift but my BFF is an awesome artist and she loves to draw so I decided to give her a customized sketch book as a gift. You can also make a cute notebook cover as a gift. You can learn how to make a notebook HERE
Anyways, let's just get into it.

  • First of all, you will need a notebook or anything that you would want to make a special cover for.

  • Then, cut a piece of recycled paper to the size of the book.

  • Cut some colored paper and gift wrapping paper to make a beautiful collage for the cover.

  • Paste the colored paper and gift wrapping paper onto the base and start writing stuff your friend or family member likes with a bunch of colored pens!!

  • After that, hot glue or glue the base onto your book and we are 90% done.

  • To make sure that the colour will not fade easily, take any sort of transparent plastic you have in your house and wrap the cover page.
  •  I had to cut open the top and side so that the plastic is wide enough.

And we are done! Simple and cute!

I hope whoever receives your gift has a smile on his or her face and I wish you a Merry Christmas! And a Happy New Year!

Update on How To Make A Cute Fringe and Word T-shirt

Hey guys! I am sorry for being MIA for so long. I am kind of busy. But today I am back with another DIY!!
Here is what the end product looks like.

I don't mean to brag or anything, but I think this design is way better than my original one cuz I made some alternations.
Here is the picture of the original shirt:<Yep, I DIYed this shirt>

So are you ready to learn how to make this? I mean the new one, not the original one.
I am sure you are.

  • First things first, how did I make the winking face and the SMILE words? Well, you can check that out HERE

  • Then, I decided to sew the collar into the shirt to make it seem smaller. My body shape fits this type of collar better. If you , like me have a kind of large neck, this collar will suit you better. But, try to wear the shirt and find out which type of collar suits you better first.
  • For the steps: One, fold the collar into the shirt. Two, pin the collar to the shirt. Three, sew on the row of thread around the shirt with a needle and a thread.

  • Since I have to finish the raw edges if I cut the sleeves, I decided to just fold it inside and sew on several parts of the sleeve with white thread like so.
  • Just make sure that it is strong enough, so that it won't fall out.

This is how it looks inside out.

  • Take a pair of scissors and cut the bottom part of the T-shirt to make cute fringes. Give them a tug so that they won't look so freshly cut and we are done.

I hope you enjoyed this #RDIY. I will be posting more often as it is the holiday season! Hopefully I can upload an #RDIY on Christmas gifts.

How to Make a Super Cute Hair Bow from a piece of old fabric

Hey guys! I have been MIA for forver and I will be busy till the end of October cuz I have some inportant exam coming right up, so I aplogise in advance if I cannot post frequently. Sorry. Anyways, I had to do this DIY cuz it is just too cute. I did a hair tie bow tutorial and if u want to check it out here is the post

http://jasminerdiy.blogspot.my/2015/01/diy-bow-hair-ties-from-old-shirts-and.html?m=1

So here is the real bow hair accessory. It looks amazing no matter what hairstyle you are rocking.

It looks too cute. I am in love~

  • First of all, you will need an old piece of fabric or a new piece of fabric that you love love love. (Or fart according to ryan higa.) I just love the design so so much and I was determined to make something out of it.

I ironed the fabric so that I have a flat and smooth surface to work with.

  • Glue all the edges of the fabric down with hot glue or fabric glue so that the edges won't fray. If you want you can sew, but I prefer the lazy method.

  • Then, glue the fabric together to form a rectangle. Glue down all the edges. Pinch the middle of the fabric and apply glue in between creases. Pinch again and you have a bow shaped.

  • Take another strip of fabric or the same fabric and glue the edges.
  • Then, wrap the fabric around the centre of the bow and glue it down.

  • Take any hair clip or hair pin that you usually use to pin your hair and apply a generous amount of hot glue on the hair clip like so.

  • After that, just glue the hair clip firmly onto our finished bow and you are left with a cute bow. Cut off any excess and you are done.

I think this is literally the cutest bow ever since I do love love love the design of the fabric. I always wanted to make this DIY hair bow since I saw them on Youtube and I finally made one. Hope you enjoy this #RDIY and I will be back with more weird stuff later one.

Update on How to Make a T-shirt Braided Headband

Hey there! I have made made a T-shirt and jean braided headband for my mom and she loves it so I decided to make another one for her. I think this is a lot lot cuter so I am also sharing it with you guys.

Well, here is how the headband looks like. I would say it looks sicker than the old one, so I hope you enjoy this #RDIY
  • First of all, you have to take an old or new piece of fabric. I used T-shirt fabric bcuz it is softer and absorbs sweat better.

  • Cut the fabric into long stripes enough to wrap around your  head.

  • Afterwards, tie one end of three strips together in a big knot and start braiding down until the other end.

I had to add one more strip of fabric bcuz the headband was too short. I just tied the extra fabric on both sides of the headband.

Here comes the awesome part!
  • Take some embroidery thread and wrap a small section around the headband, knot and cut off any excess. I used light yellow and purple thread to give my headband a pop of colour.

That is how the end product looks like and I am a little proud of myself cuz I improved in this headband braiding thing. I hope you enjoy this update and remember to always be happy:D

This is not an #RDIY. Just #lifechallenges

I am very tired of studying like this. We literally just memorise everything and just vommit everything out during exams and try beat everyone else in the rankings. I am tired of this type of studying. I really am.
I am sorry if you were hoping for me to post my new #RDIY and I am just spilling out like a mad person. I do not mean to transmit negativeness. Just to tell you that rankings aren't everything in life. Even if you are number one, but you have a disasterous attitude, you are never going to succeed. Improve yourself. I believe that you can do it. As for those who are suffering like me. Hang on tight, dear! We are into this together. Comment if you feel like it and we can totally motivate each other. Stay strong!:-)

#RDIY Binder Cover From Newspaper and Recycled Test Pad, Literally

Hey guys! This is probrably my proudest #RDIY ever because this #RDIY is super easy and cute at the same time. I made this #RDIY from only a few stuff and you can get all of these stuff at home. Namely glue, hot glue or tape, recycled test pad, newspaper or magazine cut outs and some colourful pens.  And here is the end product. I love love love it and I am so glad that it cost me nothing to do this awesome #RDIY. I do not like it when you have to go buy stuff to do a DIY. Well, that is just me.
Anyways, here is how you do it.
Here is my binder. Pretty simple right? I think this is too boringgg
  • First of all, take two or one piece of paper you own. You can used recycled test pad paper like poor me or coloured paper and even scrapbook paper. If your binder is too huge and one piece of paper isn't enough glue two together and make sure that the size is perfect on the binder.

Surprise! Surprise! Guess who this is ?

  • After that, cut out some pictures or words that you would want on your binder. You can cut out newspapers, magazines or even printouts. Since I am doing #RDIYs, I chose the first.

This newspaper looks pretty crumply, Jasmine
That is because I am not a very neat and organised person. Well, my room is still okay.

  • Glue everything onto the paper. You can also draw stuff with pens and highlighters.  Just make it random. I do appreciate randomness.

I made little booky thing. That you can open up. Just fold the paper into half and glue down the bottom part.

Smiley face

It means fighting in Japanese.

  • After that, just hot glue the paper onto your binder and you are done.

  • You can wrap the cover with some wrapping paper or contacts to protect the cover, but I don't want to because if I do so, I can't open my little book thing.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post. Happy crafting and Save Earth!
