Hey guys! I decided to make something special for my mom this year as Mother's Day is super near. I just wanted to show you what I made for my mom. I made her two #RDIYs and I wanted to share with you guys how to make them for your mom.
The first one is for jewellery loving moms.
- First you would want to wrap some fishing line around your wrist and make sure that you leave a lot of extra line(just so that you don't have to repeat the whole process if it is too small or it broke when you tried it on.) *and make sure that your mom can wear it.
If you can , try buying some elastic ones, so that they can stretch better when you pull the bracelet.
Don't buy thick fishing string. The knot will be super visible.
P.S I used some recycle kite string, talk about recycling.
- Next, thread the string through the hole on your beads. Choose a colour that your mother would love or would wear. For example, my mom is not a fan of pink, so I made her an adulty bracelet with gold colour beads. Colours do a lot of talking, so check out what colour is your mother's wardrobe mostly and chose that colour. Be aware though some colours may seem a little too childish to some moms. But you know her the best, so trust yourself.
- Remember to try and wear the bracelet on your own wrist before trying a double knot.
- Take some DIY wire and twist the wire tightly around your string. Make sure that the knot holds the wire from falling off. If not, knot the string again and twist the wire tighter.
- * Before twisting, fold the wire into two pieces. Then twist.
- I wanted to put a bead flower on the bracelet, so I passed the flower through the wire. You can also use a larger and different colour bead if you do not have a bead flower.
- Lastly I twisted the excess wire into a swirl and press it down.
- Oh and now you can cut off the excess line.
If you can find an old or unused jewellery box to keep the present. I love this heart shaped one.
Ta-daa!
I love this #RDIY and I hope you guys like this bracelet too. If you are a mother reading this post, Happy Mothers' Day! For others, good luck in making this and I would seriously feel touched if I were your mom.
Happy Early Mother's Day!
Happy Crafting!
Love
